Card of the Week:

18 – The Midnight Times

Mystery • Instinct • Emotion • Inner Truth

“The path through feeling.”

This week's theme at the Center of the Heart was about “We Are God’s Delight” and the Great Mystery / Dark Night of the Soul card springs up in today’s reading what I call: The Midnight Times in the DHCW universe.

I know in my heart that when this card shows up, that it’s message is meant to be uplifting and steadying. So even though we may collectively be inside the shadows or in the midst of a darker themed scene in our life’s drama, maybe this is when Spirit gets to show us how loved we truly are.

The Midnight Times reveals that we are in the midst of an emotional time. But rather than hide from that emotion, it is an invitation to sit with those deep feelings and be still. Maybe we don’t know what God’s curriculum for our lives is at this juncture. There may also be a lot of activity in areas of our lives that before today seemed steady-Eddy and always dependable. But right now, everything seems unsure.

So we have to trust.

This is where we have to hunker down into our belief and our faith that God did not make us just to suffer. We have been plopped down into paradise but there is in our experience things to stress over, there’s seemingly endless strife and maybe even a little bit of foolishness in the mix.

So now our work is to get still enough (just like the Sistah in the card) and know that even when things don’t appear to be for our benefit, that we just have to wait a little bit longer. Because the answer is coming.

In the meantime, we just need to be held. In the Stillness, we need to remember that God’s loving arms surround us and supports us each and every step of the way.

This love will be made apparent in your experience guaranteed because we are God’s delight and it is Spirit’s pleasure to lavish love upon you.
