“The truth waits with you.”

“Mirror, Mirror” is part of the phrase that the Evil Queen spoke aloud to the Magic Mirror in the Snow White story. . See, she was so insecure and out control with her jealousy that someone else could be more beautiful than she, that what she wanted most was to hear a lie to soothe her ruffled feathers.

The theme of the month for all CSL Centers is about the shadow self and all the shenanigans that we can get into when our unmet needs are in the driver’s seat. Interestingly enough, I pulled the Mama Know card from the DHCW deck (for those of you in the know – no pun intended – this card corresponds to The Hermit in the Rider-Waite deck.) I am mentioning all these things to set the scene.

There are times when we all need to go off on our own to hear our own wisdom. There are times we ask for the truth and want a loving lie to soothe its sting. When the desire for the truth and your willingness to face it collide, it is the perfect time to lean into the Mama Know card.

Major Arcana cards (which this card is) often mark the periods in our lives which are more …eventful (like marriage, birth, death and taxes). So that means it is important to have your wits about you and lean into your inner guidance system. In stillness you can hear more of what matters to you and you don’t have time to dwell on untruths that soothe the ego. Mama Know comes along when you are ready to hear such truths. And if you’re ready to hear, then you are more than capable of dealing with whatever situation is before you.

So back to the mirror. This is our special opportunity to awaken to our gifts too. We don’t have to glom off of someone else’s talents. While we are looking inward, its time to discover, reveal and dust off the skills and gifts we came equipped with. With so much rampant dysfunction and unchecked egos flying about nowadays, I am so very glad that Mama Know graces our pull this week. She is the essence of unbending compassion and loving strength. This energy will steady you through your excavations and Mama Know will applaud you joyfully as your regain your equilibrium and a greater appreciation of who you are.
